Sometimes it's only after you've bought your first feline friend home that you realise how many products a cat needs - not just cat food but things like cat flaps, cat collars and cat beds as well.
If times are tight, you may be wondering how much to spend on cat food or cat collars, or whether your pet really does need any cat toys. It can seem bewildering, especially with so much choice these days. But at Rocket Pets, we have a wide range of everything your feline needs, from cat toys to cat beds and cat flaps. Make us your one stop online shop for everything your furry friend needs.
If your cat is between six weeks and 12 old, it will need at least four small meals every day. At 12 weeks, you can generally increase the size of meals and give your pet three meals daily. After six months, your cat should only need to eat twice daily.
The big decision is whether to give your kitty dry or tinned cat food. There isn't really a straight answer, as each type of cat food has advantages, and your cat may simply prefer one kind over another. While canned cat food has more meat and water, for example, the dry version can be cheaper, less messy and left out for your cat all day. Many owners choose a combination of the two types but whatever you feed your cat, fresh drinking water must always be available.
Cats are quite active, easily bored animals, making cat toys important - and not just for kittens because cats of all ages love to play and interact with their owners. It is also a good idea to introduce new cat toys regularly, so that your pet doesn't become bored - and don't leave every toy out all the time.

Cat flaps, of course, allow your animal to come and go as it pleases without compromising the security of your home. Cat flaps these days are increasingly sophisticated - including microchip reading, infra red and electromagnetic cat flaps.
It's important to have a cat flap that fits the wall or door where you want to have it, and go for a flap requiring minimal assembly unless you are a DIY expert.
Cat collars can help with identification when your cat is out and about. There's a huge range available, and you should be looking for comfort for your pet and durability when choosing cat collars. You should also ensure you can fit two fingers between the collar and your cat's neck and be very careful if you put a collar on a young kitten as they grow quickly and are also more liable to get themselves in tricky situations. Safety cat collars are specially made to let your cat escape if their collar gets snagged on something.
When looking for cat beds, size, durability, and whether or not you want washable cat beds are all important. You also need to decide whether you want a waterproof base, where to keep the bed and whether it meets minimum manufacturing and safety standards.
Cat beds come in so many designs and styles you may have a hard time choosing from our range, but we are bound to stock something which your feline will love.
